Survey Shows, Unsurprisingly, Most Foreigners Prefer China’s Eastern Cities

A Survey conducted by the International Talent Exchange Issue of Beijing, and the China Association for International Exchange of Personnel has shown that China’s eastern region attracts the most foreigners. Surprise, surprise.

To conduct the survey they asked 72,000 foreigners where in China they were attracted to and why. Of course China’s top ten cities were the highest ranked: Shanghai, Beijing, tianjin, guangzhou, shenzhen, xiamen, nanjing, suzhou, hangzhou and Qingdao.

However, all is not lost for the west of China as Changsha, Chongqing and Chengdu made a good showing as well.

at a guess most people don't go west in China just because.... it is so easy to get to shanghai, HK and the like and they are easier due to English. West is for long term stayers and panda and hot pot lovers.
