Guangdong Police Taped Up Prisoners Mouths to Prevent Collusion
Nov 19, 2013 By eChinacities.com

On November 16 in Huizhou city, Guangdong, police captured 23 gang members in a raid on an establishment used for playing mah-jong. The 23 prisoners are believed to be involved in over 100 thefts, including home break ins, robbing warehouses and stealing fish.

The police station they were taken to is apparently quite small, and the gang members had to all be put in the same room. In order to stop them talking to each other the police taped the prisoners’ mouths shut.

Police explained this unusual tactic, “They all come from the same place. And because we don’t understand their dialect, we taped their mouths to prevent collusion between the suspects.”

Pictures of the prisoners with the taped up mouths quickly went viral online, especially as many of the men look like their whole heads had been taped. While many netizens believe thieves should be punished, and collusion should be prevented, they convinced by the ethics of taping up their faces; in fact most thought it was totally inhumane. We are in agreement there.

I love this, USA treats criminals better than they do citizens.
