According to the latest reports on a crash that killed five people and injured 38 others in Tiananmen Square on October 28, the vehicle’s number plate and two of the three passengers have been identified.

According to information by the Beijing Public Security Bureau, the jeep had a Xinjiang-registered license plate and previously used three other license plates with the numbers “A82Q53”, “C96063” and “BM7831”. Two of the passengers in the jeep have been identified as being Uyghur, male and aged 43 and 25 respectively.

So far the relationship of the two men remains unclear but both have a history of petitioning and being subjected to “re-education”. Reports are now also claiming that the men visited Tiananmen Square on numerous occasions “to determine the most suitable time and route”, thereby suggesting that this may have been an intentional act.

Police are now focusing their investigation on any additional accomplices that may have been involved and an extensive screening of people from Xinjiang is currently underway in Beijing.

You never know when these criminal Jihadists are going to strike. I heard a similar b0mb attack in Thailand. I fully support Beijing's efforts in cracking down on separatism, extremism, and terrorism.

When the first article mentioned a Jeep driving onto a pedestrian walkway and crashing into a crowd, it was already clear that we were dealing with terrorists. Amazing that they are from Xinjiang (according to...). I was certain they'd be from Shenyang, I see them every day.
