On August 12 at around 03:45, a white Mercedez-Benz crashed into two taxis and knocked down a female cyclist while travelling at high-speed near Jiangwan Road in Haizhu District in Guangzhou. Three people died including one foreigner and four were injured of which one sustained serious injuries and three mild injuries. Two of the injured are also reportedly foreign.

According to an eyewitness, the Mercedes-Benz was racing with another luxury car which led to the crash. Police later detected 255.8mg/100ml alcohol in the driver’s system which constitutes drink driving. The car was reportedly travelling at 130km/hour when the crash occurred. Police are currently investigating the case further.

3 more lives wiped out and 3 family's lives destroyed because some rich young hunt who should be living in a cave, doesn't know how to drive, he will be let off with enough money so what does he care.

You're right. They should have been doing that back in their own country instead.

Justin, please read the article before making comments, the foreigners were passengers in the taxis and bike, not the driver of the racing cars. I was just at the University registering, so there were a lot of foreigners around Haizhu the last few days. This could have very easily been me inside that taxi. I feel terrible for the lives lost yesterday, one of the foreigners dead could have been somebody I was just standing in line with yesterday to register for classes at the university. What an eerie thought that their lives were destroyed by someone who refused to quit drinking, even when his friends told him to stop.

You're right Dan. I had only read the English translation. It does get more detailed in the Chinese version.
