Shanghai Airports Tighten Security Checks After Beijing Bomb Incident
Jul 23, 2013 By eChinacities.com

Following on from last weekend’s story regarding a man who detonated a homemade bomb at terminal 3 of Beijing Capital International Airport, Shanghai’s Hongqiao and Pudong airports are implementing stricter security measures.

Now, all passengers must take off their shoes and belts as they pass through customs. Due to the added security measures, travelers are advised to arrive at the airports two hours prior to their flight.

It shows how stupid the airport authorities all over the world are. A sensible person would know that the man who detonated a bomb wasn't boarding. So, it was not the boarding security issue rather it was the main entrance that has no single security. I was at Hongqiao yesterday and no check at all until you wanna board.

One Chinese guy sets off a bomb and everyone now needs to suffer. I love this attitude world-wide. One isolated incident in Beijing and everyone is now considered a potential bomber simply by stepping foot into an airport. 哎呀. And before I hear "The US does the same thing. . ." It's wrong there. It's wrong here.

I remember when they did this sort of knee jerk reaction before. I was at hongqiao on the first day. Many people missed their flights.
