Beijing Knife-Wielding Tour Guide Arrested

On July 8, a video leaked onto the internet showing a Beijing tour guide who was brandishing a knife whilst forcing tourists to buy souvenirs on a bus.

On July 9, the Beijing Municipal Tourism Committee announced that the knife-wielding person in the video was a man surnamed Meng, and he had subsequently been arrested. It was later revealed that Meng’s weapon wasn’t actually a knife, but rather a screwdriver.

According to tourists present on the bus in question, Meng did flash certification which proved that he was a licensed tour guide in a certain province. However after getting in touch with relevant officials the Beijing Municipal Tourism Committee, no record of such a license was found.

The license plate of the bus in the video is 京B12306, which differs from the number featured on the tour group’s website (京P12306). It was later found that the latter number is in fact registered to a legal tour company called Yinjian International Travel, who could face serious charges if found to be responsible for any foul play.

Is anyone else looking at that picture and thinking it's actually from a parody Gangnam Style video?
