US Robots to Operate on Shenzhen Patients Soon

Those in Shenzhen with a bit of extra cash and a lack of faith in ordinary local hospitals will soon no longer have to fly halfway around the world in order to get treatment from US doctors.

Doctors based in the US will soon be able to remotely control advanced robots that will operate on patients in Shenzhen’s People’s Hospital. The doctors will be based in the Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas, but the two hospitals recently struck a deal to allow the robo-ops.

Although there is no news regarding the exact date of when the robots will arrive in Shenzhen, President of the Shenzhen People’s Hospital Yang Song has stated that there are plans to send out some of his staff to Houston for training with the robots this year.
