Netizens Launch Online Attack Against China’s 2013 World Wine Queen
Jun 13, 2013 By eChinacities.com

The saying “Another one bites the dust” has never been more relevant than in China, where one by one, the country’s elite seem to succumb to one scandal or another. The latest person in China to have fallen from public grace is Yuan Jiayi, the pretty Peking University student who was freshly crowned World Wine Queen on June 12.

Within hours of receiving the award, netizens began digging dirt on the beauty (probably because they had nothing better to do that day), and claimed that the picture of her Harvard student ID on Weibo did not prove that she is a research student there as claimed. The allegations have aroused suspicion that Yuan’s Peking University and Harvard University credentials are both fake and that she was only admitted into Peking University because of her father’s connections (her father works at Peking University hospital).

In a move that has further antagonized the “wine queen”, personal photos of her with her ex-boyfriend have been spreading like wildfire in China’s cyber space. The photos depict her in the arms of her ex, and there’s even one of her sitting alone on a swing – ooh the scandal!

In retaliation Yuan fired back, “Why waste your time commenting about a woman you hate? You should know that I’ve been working this hard to be able to look down on you from someplace higher.”

Let the online cat fight continue…

Digging dirt on the common people is sport. On the government and it's system, treason. They suck more than they do during their closed door meetings.

miss wine. wow. I hear when she was crowned, miss beer was passed out with her arms around the toilet and miss spirits was running down the street with her top off screaming about how great she felt.

There's nothing as refreshing as looking down on other people. Sounds like a nice girl.
