Actor and scientologist Tom Cruise was spotted running around on Beijing’s Great Wall on May 9 in promotion of his new film “Oblivion”, which hits Chinese screens on May 10. Cruise, on his first ever visit to Beijing, was called a “hero” (好汉) by the local media (though he was surrounded by buff bodyguards—an apt replacement for Katie Holmes perhaps).
Desperate for Chinese audiences to like him, Cruise then stated that he likes Chinese food, and wowed the crowds when he said he had already eaten roast duck, before shouting in broken Chinese “I Love Beijing!”

It's TOM CRUISE. I don't really think he's 'desperate' for anyone to like him. He's just another foreigner in China. Have you never said "wo ai zhonguo" before?
