They say the best things in life are free, and this mantra was certainly embraced by villagers near a crash site in Shaanxi Province recently.
On April 27, the breaks of a truck transporting over one million Yuan worth of daily-use goods (you know, like clothes, buckets and other stuff) gave way causing it to flip over on the Fuyin Expressway in Shaanxi. What resulted was a spectacular sight of over 30 tons of goods scattered all around the crash site.
When word spread about the crash, nearby villagers rushed to the scene – not to help out the injured mind you, but to grab as much “free” stuff as humanly possible.
An hour after the crash had occurred, over 200 villagers were on site grabbing the goods like their life depended on it, making the ten odd policemen at the scene look and feel pretty useless. Luckily, someone at the site remembered to check on the truck drivers during the whole frenzy – the two drivers had sustained injuries and were sent to hospital.

The picture does not match the story. I see about 30 people standing around the edge of the crash scene, like you would see anywhere in the world, and two people picking through what looks to be a load of garbage.
