If anyone’s going to be into the consumption of endangered species, it’s gotta be the Cantonese, right?
Pictures recently emerged of a large supermarket in Guangzhou selling crocodile meat. Although it hasn’t yet been confirmed which chain it is, the large supermarket (Wal-Mart?) has been selling the meat at different prices depending on body part, with the most expensive section (the feet) fetching 40 USD per kilogram.

I have seen crocodile in numerous supermarkets in GZ over several years - now it is suddenly news?

Crocodiles aren't exactly endangered. And it's not just Guangzhou--you can also get crocodile in Nanning, Guangxi. Southern Chinese eat everything. :D

Yep, Sams Club in Panyu, been selling it for years....not news. And besides that, Guangzhou crocopark is a matter of 15 mis away, also readily available to buy there.

Crocodile meat is available for purchase in Guangzhou in Metro supermarket in the fish section. I see it every time I go there.
