FIFA: Corrupt Chinese Football Officials to get “Worldwide Ban”
Feb 27, 2013 By eChinacities.com

Sports governing body FIFA recently announced that match-fixing bans given to 58 Chinese footballers and officials have been extended to the rest of the world. The 58 were banned by the Chinese Football Association (CFA) on February 18, following a crackdown on corruption in the sport. Twenty-five of them received a five-year ban from all footballing activities, while the other 33 were banned for life. Nan Yong, the former head of the CFA, was recently sentenced to ten years imprisonment for accepting bribes worth over 1.48 million RMB. His predecessor Xie Yalong received a similar punishment, along with a 200,000 RMB fine.

Well, the previous comment was tongue-in-cheek (TIC...hehe...) so I don't think it deserved a thumbs down. However, it pains the heart and soul of this football lover to learn that China cannot rise above common corruption, however tempting or coercing it may be (from higher-ups?) to lie, cheat and steal. Please, China. If you demand credibility and respect from the world community in any sphere or industry, you have to be honest and clean. Nuff said.
