In china, if you have a daughter, when it comes to marriage, the family with the daughter is "given away" to the guy's family. In major cities, 90% of girls want their future bf to have a house/apt. It is a requirement. Other requirement are: salary MUST be at least 5000 - 6000 (depend on the guy's age). Having a car is another requirement. And last, the guy family must give the girl's family "red pocket money" of about 200k. So that is what the other guy means, when he says "pimping" It is like "selling" the daughter to the guy's family. By having a daughter, the daughter's family don't need to plan/buy their daughter a house for marriage and etc. If the bf doesn't have these things, the father will not let her daughter marry, even though the love is strong between them.
