Sorry but I think #7 The-Final-Say has it right on the money. The spouse visa is not for Laowai males, its not designed for us and I can't see it changing quickly in the future. Its for females from neighbouring places to marry Chinese men. So no need to work on it as your job is to be a mother and housewife and possibly help out the MIL in the family business/ farm.
