I was hired by an international school in Qingdao as the director. My position was to manage all foreign teachers. I asked specifically prior to agreeing to signing of contract if the school was licensed and if all the western teachers were legal (with the fec). I was told yes. I have only worked there for 6 weeks. I then find out that 5 of the 7 teachers were working illegal (no fec). It stated in my contract that I could break the contract if i had been deceived and or otherwise influenced to sign based on deception. I used this "deception" about the hiring of illegal teachers in my resignation letter. Now the school refuses to pay me for the last 2 weeks of my work, they refuse to provide me with the two needed release documents, and they are threatening to cancel my visa. Any advise?
