Maybe ignorance is bliss regarding knowing the language. yes, I know a few words or phrases in Chinese, but not much for living in China for 7 continuous years and never returning to the USA. Sometimes knowing the language can get you into fights like a few of my expat friends who overheard some Chinese making vulgar comments never dreaming they knew Chinese, much less local dialect. I'll probably just remain ignorant in this regard. Happy every day!
