It makes sense, how are you going to get a job with your only selling point being speaking Chinese? You know who else speaks Chinese? SEVENTY percent of Chinese people! What we have to offer, what justifies our high salaries is our problem solving and leadership skills. I work for an American company btw, but still my boss can rest easy knowing that I can come up with creative solutions to operational dilemmas. Our Chinese staff are very smart and talented people, but they lack good judgment when it comes to implementing solutions to different situations, as well as lacking confidence in decision making without express approval of superiors which leads to a slow reaction time.
